"Ireland's oldest waymarked walk, a slow loop around the Iveragh peninsula — bog, cliff, lake, and a different pub each night."

The Kerry Way runs for about 214 kilometres around the Iveragh peninsula, roughly tracing the line of the Ring of Kerry but keeping mostly to old butter roads, green lanes, and mountain tracks. Most walkers break it into ten stages, which is how we run it.

We come in the shoulder months, stay in family-run B&Bs and small country hotels, and walk between four and six hours a day. The weather will do what it wants, and that is part of the deal.

Our lead guide on the Kerry Way, Niamh O'Sullivan, has walked the full loop more times than she can count. She'll take you to the turf fire at the back of Nancy's in Sneem for what she calls a proper end to a walking day.
